Pre-compiled latest version of JsonAsAsset Plugin from https://github.com/JsonAsAsset/JsonAsAsset/ Noticed Releases tab is missing UE5.6.1 version so I compiled it myself. You can do it yourself in 5 minutes or just download the zip and extract it inside Plugins directory of your UE Project. The tab for the plugin has moved to be in the Content Browser and I recommend disabling Cloud Server unless you have a specific use for it.

Usage:

• After creating your mod, go to Platforms -> Windows -> Cook Content
• Upon cooking, your files will appear in %ProjectFolder%/Saved/Cooked/Windows/
• Copy DeadByDaylight folder, go to UnrealPak directory and create pakchunk%NUMBERS% folder (%NUMBERS% can be any numbers of your choice, e.g. pakchunk10010329 - always start with 100)
• Paste aforementioned DeadByDaylight folder into your newly created pakchunk folder, then delete unnecessary folders (depending on your mod) - this might include AssetRegistry.bin, Metadata folder, base DBD Materials like MI_Camper_Cust, M_Camper_Cust, MI_HairTAA, M_Slasher_Cust, etc., entirety of Content or Plugins and more - purely depends on your mod, use logic

Never Cook Fix If you are setting up Directories to never cook in your Project Settings, you might get errors because your assets which are being cooked reference assets excluded from cooking. It might also give you errors when you're trying to simply save such assets.

This fix prevents any errors related to this problem.

It is especially useful if you're using Template Project because that project has all unnecessary directories set to Never Cook by default.

Installation Go to your Unreal Engine 5.6 installation folder (by default it's C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_5.6) Extract Engine folder from the archive here. It should prompt you to replace three files.

Starting with version 9.3.0, bhvr made significant changes to Material Instance class within their own Engine build - this means simply cooking and packaging mods that contain Material Instances in base-UE5.4.4 is now impossible and will result in crashes. Olegshabunov created this program to fix the issue.

Usage: Simply drag-and-drop the whole folder (for example, pakchunk1000000-Windows) with all your cooked assets onto the executable (the same way you do with UnrealPak). Also you can patch individual .uasset or .umap assets.

If console window appears for a moment and then disappears - the fix is applied. You can package your mod with DBDUnrealPak.

If the fix was applied before - all subsequent runs will not affect already patched assets.
